Guide to Dedicated Towing and Recovery
In towing company do you know what to look for? My guess is that you don’t give much thought to that question, or it’s the answer, unless you are in immediate need of one. Most of us hope our cars don’t fail us. We pray we never need a vehicle with tow. It is a cost that many of us, or perhaps all of us, do not want to think about. I assume you ‘re among the fortunate few who’re rarely in need of towing services. I’ve had more than one experience with towing companies and towing truck drivers unfortunately. Although I don’t own a towing company myself, when choosing a company to tow your car or truck, I do have some ideas about what you might want to think.
Second, is the phone answered at all as you call? Believe it or not, several companies intermittently answer the phones. Is the person on the other end of the line professional and knowledgeable about what you’ll need for your circumstances in particular?
Will the driver be there shortly alongside the tow truck? And if they can’t manage it right away you’re given an approximate date of arrival? They will be truthful about the waiting period, even though they can not meet you instantly. This allows you to plan for their arrival and, if they are not there as quickly as you feel they should be, it can also free your mind of concern. This also helps you to alert any officers stopping to see if you need assistance with a tow truck on the road.
Is the driver qualified as he climbs into the tow truck? Does he work on trust? Can he or she answer any and all questions you may have? You don’t want someone to put it on to the truck when it comes to your car, who doesn’t know what they are doing. This can be expensive. You want to be sure your drivers are trustworthy and experienced.
Are the tow truck itself and the machinery in decent shape? I wouldn’t want my vehicle towed by a truck that looks like it’s about to fall apart. I wouldn’t like a really tired, worn-out tow truck holding my truck or vehicle. I don’t say it’s got to be brand new but it’s got to be in good shape. A business that looks after its own cars is more apt to take good care of yours.
Do they have the correct truck model to match your situation? Does you require a flatbed tow for your vehicle? If so, have they got everything you need?
I would advise you not to base your decision entirely on price, too. If a business is the cheapest, then is there a justification for that? Although I wouldn’t choose the most costly towing service and would certainly ask for other rates, I would prefer a business whose price is in the center somewhere. You get just what you’re paying for.
While each circumstance is different, these are just a few things to think about when you’re looking for a towing company to use for your next towing service or vehicle transport. Ask any questions, and allow the business to help you feel nice. Your gut instinct should be right on goal more times than not.
